Why Are Gold Prices Moving Today?

International gold prices are being influenced by the US dollar, Treasury yields, inflation concerns and expectations surrounding Federal Reserve interest-rate policy. International spot gold also came under pressure on September 1, with reports pointing to a significant decline during the session.

Domestic gold prices are additionally affected by the rupee-dollar exchange rate, import costs, local demand and jewellery-market conditions.

What Buyers Should Know

The price of jewellery is not determined only by the quoted gold rate. Buyers should also consider making charges, GST and other applicable charges before comparing the final bill.

For jewellery purchases, 22K gold is commonly used, while 24K represents higher-purity gold. Always check the purity and final invoice amount before purchasing.
