Gold Price Trend on August 25

The national benchmark for 24K gold was around ₹16,375 per gram on August 25, while 22K gold was around ₹15,010 per gram. The benchmark showed a small decline from the previous day's rate.

Other market trackers showed slightly different figures because of differences in market timing and methodology. NDTV Profit reported the national 24K rate around ₹1,63,490 per 10 grams, with Chennai at about ₹1,63,670, Mumbai at ₹1,63,190 and Delhi at ₹1,62,910 per 10 grams.

22K vs 24K Gold: Which One Is Used for Jewellery?

24K gold has the highest purity and is commonly associated with investment products such as bars and coins.

22K gold contains approximately 91.6% gold and is widely preferred for jewellery because the added metals provide greater strength and durability.

When buying jewellery, consumers should also consider making charges, GST and other applicable costs rather than comparing only the headline gold rate.

What Determines Gold Prices in India?

Gold prices are influenced by international bullion prices, currency movements, global economic conditions, geopolitical developments, domestic demand and local market factors. Rates can also differ between cities and jewellery retailers.

Things to Check Before Buying Gold
