New Delhi, September 28, 2026: Gold prices remain closely watched across India on Monday, September 28. The price of gold varies across cities and markets depending on local bullion conditions. Current market references put 24K gold broadly around ₹1.51 lakh–₹1.55 lakh per 10 grams, while 22K gold is around ₹1.38 lakh–₹1.42 lakh per 10 grams across the referenced markets.

According to Business Today's September 28 state-wise benchmark, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Karnataka were listed at ₹1,52,820 per 10 grams for 24K gold and ₹1,40,090 for 22K gold. Bihar was listed at ₹1,52,720 for 24K and ₹1,39,990 for 22K, while Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, West Bengal and Odisha were listed at ₹1,52,670 for 24K and ₹1,39,940 for 22K.

Gold Price in Delhi, Mumbai and Major Cities

Business Today reported Delhi's 24K gold rate at ₹1,52,820 per 10 grams and 22K gold at ₹1,40,090 per 10 grams on September 28. Its metro-city benchmark showed Chennai and Delhi at ₹1,52,820 for 24K, while Kolkata and Mumbai were at ₹1,52,670 per 10 grams.

Other market references show different benchmark prices for the same date. NDTV Profit, for example, reported a broader India benchmark of ₹1,51,470 per 10 grams for 24K and ₹1,38,848 for 22K, while other sources show still different reference rates.

This difference is normal because online gold rates can be based on different bullion benchmarks, update times and market sources.

22K vs 24K Gold

24K gold is generally considered the highest-purity form, around 99.9%, and is commonly used for investment bars and coins.

22K gold contains about 91.6% gold and is widely used for jewellery because the additional alloy makes it more suitable for everyday jewellery.
