New Delhi, September 16, 2026: Indian equity markets recovered on Wednesday after the previous session's sharp decline. The Nifty 50 gained 99 points, or 0.43%, to close at 23,217.60, while the Sensex advanced 332.63 points, or 0.45%, to 74,336.45. The Bank Nifty gained 497.70 points, or 0.89%, to finish at 56,292.45.

Bank Nifty Performance

The Bank Nifty closed at 56,292.45, gaining 497.70 points or 0.89% from its previous close of 55,794.75. The index traded between an intraday low of 55,812.20 and a high of 56,368.70.
