Why Did the Market Close Higher?

IT stocks were a key driver of the session's gains. Tech Mahindra, TCS and Infosys advanced, while the Nifty IT index rose around 3.9%, according to market reports. Investors continued to respond to quarterly earnings and improving sentiment around technology companies.

However, market participation remained mixed. The Nifty 50 had 26 advancing constituents and 24 declining constituents, while the broader tracked NSE futures-and-options cash-stock list also showed more decliners than gainers. This suggests that the recovery was not uniform across the market.

What Should Investors Watch Next?

Investors will track upcoming corporate earnings, banking-sector results, global market cues and crude oil prices for the next direction. A positive close does not guarantee further gains, and individual stocks can move differently from the benchmark indices.
