Silver Rate Today 17 September 2026: State-Wise Rates

New Delhi, September 17, 2026: Silver prices in India remained volatile on Thursday, September 17, with rates varying across cities and states. A latest national benchmark puts silver at around ₹2.32 lakh per kg, while LiveMint reported approximately ₹2,32,248 per kg and ₹2,322 per 10 grams for India.

Silver prices can differ from one market to another because of local demand and supply, taxes, dealer margins and different update timings. The figures below should therefore be treated as indicative state/market benchmark rates, rather than a uniform retail price applicable to every jeweller.

Why Did Silver Prices Move Today?

Silver prices declined across major Indian markets on September 17. Financial Express reported a 1.35% decline in silver prices across major cities. The report linked the move to a 25-basis-point US Federal Reserve rate hike, along with movements in the dollar and global commodity markets.

The retail price paid by a consumer can be higher than the quoted benchmark because jewellery and other silver products may include making charges and GST. Business Today notes that the final calculation can include the base silver price, making charges and 3% GST.

Silver Price for 10 Grams Today

A national market benchmark puts the September 17 price of 10 grams of silver at approximately ₹2,322–₹2,328, although the exact retail price may vary by city and seller.

What Should Buyers Check?

Before purchasing silver, buyers should check the purity, weight, GST and making charges. Rates published online are generally indicative, and the final price at a local jeweller can differ.
