999 Silver vs 925 Silver

999 silver contains approximately 99.9% silver and is commonly referred to as fine silver. 925 sterling silver contains 92.5% silver, with the remaining portion made up of other metals. Buyers should therefore check purity along with the quoted silver rate and making charges. 
