The market continued to focus on rising crude oil prices and global bond yields. Investors also remained cautious ahead of the US Federal Reserve's FOMC minutes. Analysts identified the 24,000 level as an important near-term support zone for the Nifty, while the 24,200–24,300 area was highlighted as an immediate resistance zone.

Market Outlook

The August 19 session reflected continued risk aversion in Indian equities. Nifty's seven-session losing streak and weak market breadth indicate that traders remained cautious. At the same time, relative strength in IT and selected healthcare and metal stocks showed that buying interest was still present in specific sectors.

Investors should monitor crude oil prices, global bond yields, foreign institutional flows and geopolitical developments in the next trading sessions.
