Stock Market Today, 25 August 2026: Nifty, Sensex End Higher; Bank Nifty Flat

New Delhi, August 25, 2026: Indian stock markets ended higher on Tuesday after a volatile trading session. The Nifty 50 closed at 24,334.55, gaining 115.50 points or 0.48%, while the BSE Sensex settled at 77,656.09, up 286.98 points or 0.37%. The Bank Nifty closed at 57,514.20, marginally lower by 11.75 points or 0.02%.

The market recovered sharply during the later part of the session after opening under pressure. Falling crude oil prices provided some relief to Indian equities, while volatility remained elevated because of the monthly Nifty derivatives expiry and the new closing-auction system. Reuters reported that Brent crude fell 3.2% to around $89.20 a barrel.

What Drove the Market Today?
